Garden Project
We chose plants that would attract pollinators such as bees because we wanted them to reproduce and bloom, so that was one of the main reasons why we chose these plants. We also wanted drought tolerant plants because of the lack of rain that we are having right now. The relationship between our plants and their pollinators (bees, wasps, flies, butterflies) is symbiotic because both species benefit. The pollinators can eat the nectar, while the plants get pollinated. In addition, we needed to supplement the soil we were growing our plants in because it was rocky, dry, and compact. To fix this problem, we used a sheet mulching method with mulch, cardboard, and coffee grounds.
